09:15 am Departure from Le Grand Large St Malo on an ancient road leaving over the new Chateaubriand-Bridge from where visitors have a beautiful view over the river Rance.
10:00 am Arrival at the port of Dinan and departure of the tour of the town on foot from Place du Guesclin (former fair-ground)
Dinan is uniquely located at the edge of a 75 m (279 ft) high plateau overlooking the Rance River. Visit of the medieval city:
- Place des Merciers surrounded by beautiful half-timbered houses with wooden porches (15th-17th century),
- the Clock-Tower (15th century) with a bell known offered by Anne of Brittany in 1507
- the Saint Sauveur Romanesque Church (12th century).
- Behind the church, you will cross the English Garden in order to get to the ramparts which are the most impressive and ancient ones in Brittany (13th and 14th century). Magnificent view over the Rance River and the viaduct of Lanvallay.
- Walking along narrow medieval streets, you will then arrive at the fortified Jerzual Gate (14th century) and continue on Jerzual Road lined by triangular gabled houses with wooden facades going back to the 16th century and now occupied by artists.

We will go to Cape Frehel whose cliffs rise vertically to a high of 72 m (229 ft) over the sea. The lighthouse (145 steps) is lit by a xenon flash lamp; the light can be seen 120 km (74,5 miles) away when it’s clear. The steep coast made of schist and sandstone is fringed with reefs on which the swell breaks heavily. From here, you can look down on the Fauconnière rocks, crowded with seagulls and cormorants. When the weather is clear, beautiful panorama over Bréhat-Isle and up to the Norman Coast and Jersey.
05:00 pm – Return to St Malo via the road along the “Emerald Coast”. The carving of the coast, the colors of the sand and the rocks, the exceptional amplitude of the tides and the climatic contrasts justify the name “Emerald Coast”. You will find a succession of beaches of fine white sand seaside resorts which were only modest villages before the massive arrival of tourists in this area.
